The 41st Annual Hydro Charity Fun Run/Walk will take place at Sunnybrook Park in Toronto (Leslie Street and Eglinton Avenue), on Saturday, October 5th, 2019.
The event, hosted by the Hydro Road Runners Club, is open to all employees (regular, temp, or contract) and pensioners of Ontario Hydro successor companies and GTA electric utilities, sponsors and their families.
To participate in this event, you must register on this website by Saturday, September 28th.
Each person attending the event must register separately.
The Hydro Fun Run / Walk promotes fun, fitness and participation in a family atmosphere*. Following the runs and walks, there will be a free lunch with ice cream, children's entertainment and awards ceremony.
Choose the fitness event(s) you and your family would like to participate in.
These include a 5 km run, a 5 km walk, and a 1 km event primarily for children. Participants in the 1 km event may walk, run or bike the course (the course is mainly on grass and a wood chip path).
The events will begin at the times shown below (rain or shine).
5 km run 9:30 a.m.
5 km walk 9:30 a.m.
1 km children's event 11:00 a.m.
Lunch, raffle prizes and awards 11:30 a.m.
Medals for top 3 finishers in the 5 km various age groups and overall Male and Female winner.
Medals for all children in the 1 km.
Only employees of Ontario Hydro successor companies and GTA electric utilities are eligible for winning male and female overall title.
*NOTE: The event is being held as a fundraiser for charity instead of charging an entry fee. In order to take part, participants are required to make a charitable donation
The Hydro Road Runners encourages a minimum donation of $10 per individual participating in the 5 km or $20 per family, or $10 per family participating in the 1 km event.
Charitable donations to these charities are to be made prior to the event (links provided below). Cheques will also be accepted at the event. Please bring a copy of your receipt to the event for confirmation of the donation.
Proof of donation online is required to pick up the run / walk participant kit. The run / walk participant kit includes bib number, (which entitles you to enter the lunch line), and raffle ticket for raffle prizes during the awards ceremony.
In order to take part, participants are encouraged to make a charitable donation to the Canadian Cancer Society and/or to the GoodLife Kids Foundation.
